I’m Matthew Wood.
I’ve been an avid student in Shaolin Cosmos Qigong since 2009, and launched Shaolin Qigong Hampshire after being appointed an instructor in 2018.
Qigong has transformed my life in many ways and if you’re interested you can read more about it here.
How I Discovered Cosmos Qigong
Prior to 2009, I practiced Tai Chi at another school. It was here that I noticed tingling in my hands and strange sensations in my body during the “warm-up” exercises. This was energy (chi or qi). I felt more energy during the warm-up exercises than I did during the main class and discovered that we were practicing Qigong (or Chi Kung).
I was extremely curious to find out more, and my research led me to Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit‘s incredible book “The Art of Chi Kung”. Blown away by the breadth and depth of the art, I decided that if even a small fraction of it was true, it would be incredible. I now know from direct experience that Shaolin Cosmos Qigong really is incredible.
I have trained directly with Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit both in the UK and in Malaysia every year since 2009 and with other instructors from the Shaolin Wahnam Institute. I also practice twice a day.
Spreading the Arts
When Grandmaster Wong offered me the privilege of becoming an appointed Qigong Instructor in 2018 it was a huge honour.
Being able to practice an authentic, high-level art is wonderfully fortunate. Being able to teach others and pass on the art is a dream come true.
In 2019 I was appointed as a Qigong Healer (or Therapist).
I am delighted to be able to share Shaolin Cosmos Qigong with anyone lucky enough to discover it.
